Since its founding in 1902, Kuretake has cultivated its ink-making technology, and in 1958 it launched a liquid “ink drop". SUMI INK is a high-quality ink recommended for use by professional cartoonists, as well as beginners.

Sumi Ink takes the original concepts behind traditional sumi ink roots where Kuretake originated and has continued to create an ink that is perfect for drawing Manga and illustration lines. Also, it is good for fountain pen, dip pen, calligraphy, scrapbooks, journals, sketching, and much more.

Since it is a water-based pigment ink, ink will not bleed or mix with water once it is dried. It can be used with a colour pen of water-based dye ink, or an alcohol-based ink pen.

Xylene-free, conforms to ASTM D 4236, ACMI-certified for safety, and registered AP mark.
